I watched the movie and it was awesome! Listening to the soundtrack…BLOWN AWAY! My favorite part of the soundtrack is the opening theme song and more so, the part where they capture him in the box at the end…it was as if I was sitting in the middle of the symphony and the brass section was playing to me. WOW! I’ve never had an experience like this! BRAVO!!!
- Awesome job, Joe!

I didn’t know who Joe Kraemer was before I learned that he’d be composing the music for Mission Impossible Rogue Nation. Being a fan of the movie scores for 3 out of the 4 movies that been released so far (I’m not a huge a fan of Hans Zimmer’s take on the MI franchise), I decided to check out Joe’s body of work to get acquainted to his composing style. I fell in love with his music for Way of the Gun and I thought the score for Jack Reacher was interesting (albeit not great, but OK considering the bland film score music being composed these days). I gotta say that the music he’s composed for Rogue Nation is a wonderful addition to the franchise. Great themes. I love the orchestral textures of this score and his use of Lalo Schifrin’s iconic MI theme music. I’l definitely be keeping an eye out for this composer.
- Cool score for an awesome movie

This score is definitely a step up from Ghost Protocol. No offense to Giacchino (his work on LOST was beautiful), but I agree with a previous reviewer that his music can seem a bit thin.
This soundtrack has "punch", and a European exotic flavor you would expect from a spy movie. Opening track ("The A400") appropriately builds the suspense for what's to come - "Solomon Lane", "Morocco Pursuit", "Meet the IMF", and "Finale" are all great.
Admittedly, a portion of the soundtrack can sound a bit like a generic suspense movie, but all in all, it's a cool score for an outstandingly awesome movie.
- Amazing in an era of boring loops

In an era dominated by Zimmer, Junkie XL, and Henry Jackmans repetitive motif’s its so refreshing to hear real orchestra playing real themes. I know this is a bit old fashioned but its done so tastefully and the orchestration shows that Joe Kraemer is the real deal. Such good suspense. I hope to see more scores like this.
Kraemers way of the gun score is great too!!!

I’m a Joe Kraemer fan, and I was excited to see he would again be working with director Christopher Mcquarrie on this score. Of course, he’s taking over the reins from Michael Giacchino, who composed the music for parts 3 and 4. I think Giacchino did a really nice job with the last two scores, though I think his recordings tend to sound thin. How he manages this with a giant orchestra is beyond me, but it’s a problem that persists today. Perhaps a different producer and/or mixer is in order. But I digress – Kraemer has done a marvelous job of weaving the famous and essential Lalo Schifrin theme throughout. He utilizes the melody in unique and inspired ways, while building off of it to create something new and fresh. The theme is the best it’s ever sounded here – and I think many will come for just that – but it’s Kraemer’s other sonic ideas, and purely enjoyable action cues, that really round out the score.
For example, I loved how Schifrin’s famous “The Plot” theme has been arranged – especially in the track “The Syndicate,” where it has been given a lush Moroccan flair. Fantastic composition. “Solomon Lane” is a beautiful, sweeping piece that builds to a dramatic high. It sounds like it could be from a classic Hollywood epic – and I mean that with the utmost praise. We need strong themes and bold orchestral scores to come back in fashion in a serious way.
Much of the score could almost feel at home in a Bond film, and I think that’s a good thing. We have certain expectations when it comes to Spy films, and the musical ideas definitely help set the tone. I think what sets this score apart from some of the more recent Bond music is that Kraemer has embraced the genre in a way that is self-aware: it should be FUN. When it comes down to it, that’s what this score is – a ton of fun. I’m also happy to report that the recording quality is fantastic as well. No thin sounding orchestra here; it’s big, bold, and full. Love it.
