The Ancient & Arcane

Varien shows how great of a producer he is in this debut album. From future bass to chill-out to bluegrass, he once again shows how he is able to infuse electronic music with a wide variety of instruments to make an incredible listening experience. This isn’t the kind of album to be played by a headliner at an EDM festival, it’s the one you let sink into your mind as you’re lying on your bed on a rainy afternoon. As Nick (Varien) said during his sneak-peek, if you relax and close your eyes, you can picture yourself all around the world because of the wide range of unique and culturally influenced sounds in this album. Thank you Varien for this well-crafted debut LP, this project was a definite success and I wish you luck in your future endeavors.

When I saw that Varien had made a house track I got super hyped for this LP. I think it's great that Varien's been experimenting with other genres and I have a feeling the rest of these songs are going to be amazing!

Even though I haven't heard the whole thing, when I heard Supercell, I knew that this will be amazing. Supercell is an awesome track to have, the beggining reminds of Beyond the Surface (Another one of Varien's tracks), the drop almost sounds like Rootkit combined with Mr Fijiwiji. Keep up the good work Nick :)

This album is very experimental for Varien. So far I love what I hear and cannot wait for the full album to release. Great work.
