- The mellow side of Neil.

Nicolette Larson realy helped Neil on this.
I like her solo version of Lotta Love better than this one.
This is not one of those Young albums from the past where I liked every song.
It was a good effort, none the less and just too mellow for my time in high school.

“Harvest” is an outstanding album. I played it a lot when I purchased it when it was released have played it countless times since. I Felt it was his best, till I bought “Comes a Time”. I now regard this album as his best, with a wonderful bonus having Nicolette Larson joining in the festivities!

As much this about Neil’s utter brilliance and his incredible musical sensibility, it is also a haunting tribute to Nicolette Larson. What an amazing voice and tragic loss. Lotta Love, Comes A Time, everything with her on it. Just spectacular. He finally found an even better voice(s) to harmonize with then CSN.

First four tracks are very strong. Next is motorcycle Mama, Human Highway and to me the best song is Four Strong Winds.

The first Neil Young album I bought was 'American Stars and Bars.' A local five and dime store was going out of business and that was one of the albums being discounted heavily. A friend then gave me his 'Decade' compilation album, about that same time. The 'Comes a Time' album is the first Neil Young album that I paid full price for. A testament to the albums longevity is that I was recently adding songs to the hard drive in my car and six of the 10 songs or songs that were added, 38 years after the album was released.perhaps I should give it six dollars rather than five.
